世界最大級で1983年から始まっている歴史あるゲームアワードのGolden Joystick Awards。2020年今年の発表が、11月24日20時30分（日本時間25日5時30分）に行われ、The Las of Us2（PS4）が今年のベストゲームともいえるUltimate Game of the Yearを含む6つのトロフィーを獲得する記録的な成績を収めた。
Golden Joystick Awardsは、過去12ヵ月間のゲームの中からさまざまなカテゴリーごとにすぐれたゲームをユーザーの投票により決め、称えるもので、10月からその投票が行われていた。
その中で、Fall GuysがBest Multiplayer GameとBest Family Gameの2つを、Among UsはBreakthrough Awardに輝き、その存在と評価が確たるものとして証明された。
全カテゴリーの受賞は右の通り。アワードの模様は、YouTube、Twitch、Facebookにてストリーミング配信され、アーカイブ動画として視聴も可能。英語となるが、今年を振り返る解説や受賞者のインタビューなど見どころも盛り沢山。
